Best time to come is around September/October or April/May. During the Australian summer months (November till February), it can be very humid in Queensland, and jellyfish (especially the box jellyfish) are a problem when swimming. Queensland is the first choice. The Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland is an absolute must visit. If you enjoy natural beauty, then allow a week to visit Tasmania. Stop off in Sydney to have a look around as well. Enjoy!

In northern Australia, any time in the dry season is fine. This starts at the end of April and ends at the beginning of October.
Climatic Averages:
Cairns
Darwin
Broome

More tourists generally travel to Cairns (http://www.welcometocairns.com.au ) during the winter months, not only for the nice weather, but also because of the stinger-free waters. Instead of four seasons, Cairns has a wet season and dry season. Cairns averages at about 24 ° to 28 ° C dry season and in the summer (wet season) Dec – Feb 30 ° to 35 ° C

For Great Barrier Reef Adventures::::
One day trip – A trip out on the reef to Green Island – or
or right out on the Outer Reef Activity Platform – with buffet lunch – well worth it !
About Green Island here -
You can snorkel out on the reef, take a glass bottom boat, do the scoobdo – or seawalker – all great experiences there is half day trips or full day.

Other adventures activities to do in Cairns::::

A trip to the Aboriginal Culture Park and on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
(same car park, right next door to each other)

The skyrail takes you up to the rainforest village of Kuranda. – or take the skyrail up one way and train back down to the city. Kuranda Scenic Railway

Port Douglas is about a 50 min drive from Cairns city – worth it for the scenery. or

There are more than 30 beaches between Cairns and Port Douglas alone, and most of them past Ellis Beach are practically deserted.

Daintree Discovery Centre – Walking in the rainforest etc -

You must do a bungy jump while here –

About the Wet Tropics and World Heritage North Qld

Things to do and See in Cairns

I would also suggest Uluru (or known as Ayres rock) – A large sandstone rock formation located in the Northern Territory of central Australia. It is listed as a World Heritage Site for its natural and man-made attributes.

For NZ –
If you want extreme adventure trips in NZ – Queenstown is the capital of adventure. – - and Milford Sounds,

Also Whale Watching in Kaikoura.

Franz Joseph Glacier –
and you can’t go past a tramping trip at Abel Tasman National park -
You can walk one way and aquataxi back, or take a kayak and swim with the seals on the way .

Enjoy your anniversary in Australia or NZ
