Well; I would suggest New Zealand – but that’s even further away. The diving around Tutukaka is fantastic.

How about Thailand, there are loads of excellent scuba diving sites and given your liberal views it would suit you down to the ground. Phuket would probably do, there are lots of brits living there. Your wife could probably set up some school there too, if you could get work visas, that would be your main problem, as, for some strange reason, the Thais are very strict with their visas.

egypt has fantastic diving.the wildlife in the red sea is beautiful! and only 5hrs from the uk.not entirely sure how you’d go about buying property there but as the whole country is developing and tourism is booming it would be a very good place to invest, and many people speak english because of this.oh,and apparently it only rains 2 days a year!

Been SCUBA diving all over and my favorite place has to be Bonaire N.A. It is right near Aruba. The people are great there and live a pretty laid back lifestyle. There are all of the modern facilities you need to raise a family (supermarket, hospital, etc) and is still off the beaten path. Oh, and the diving is beyond compare
