Maybe Professor Terry Hughes, Director of the Centre for Coral Reef Biodiversity in the School of Marine Biology and Aquaculture, was awarded the Australian Marine Science Association Silver Jubilee Award for excellence, which is made to a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to marine research in Australia. Or Professor John Patterson, Head of School Engineering, received an ARC Linkage Project grant for his work on ‘Optimum aeration strategies of shallow tidally flushed lakes
